The children made their own black paint from charcoal and oil, which they then uses to decorate different things in the woods.




Adventure in the Woods
The reception class had lots of adventures, challenging themselves in the woods. Finding different places and exploring.






Reception Helping Birds to Keep Cool Find a Surprise.
The children thought it would be a good idea to make bird baths so the birds could cool off in the heat, when we came across a newt. There was lots of excitement and lots of the children plucked up the courage to hold the newt before it was released.



Reception Help the Bugs
Reception helped to fill one of the bug hotels with wood clippings. Later they considered how to keep different animals safe and happy, they then finished their time with popcorn made on the fire. Some heard the first corn pop and made a wish.




Giant Birds in the Woods
The children from reception class were transformed in birds and had to build their own nests to sleep in. One group built a nest for the whole class!


Y3/4 Helping to Improve the Forest.
Some fantastic teamwork bringing wood chippings to cover cover the mud around the circle and table.

The children all challenged themselves in lots of different ways.


Trying to figure out how to make the longest continuous line in the woods.


Using a piece of string to make a 3,4,5 triangle to lay out their own Roman roads around the woods.

Children made their own woodland poppies for Remembrance Day.

The children created their own music festival, on the half dome stage!
The Little People Could Be Here
The children have all been making little rope ladders to help the little people in the woods and at home. This was a tricky task that required concentration, perseverance and determination. The children were brilliant helping each other and even teaching each other when they got how to tie the rungs on to the string.



King or Queen of the jungle
Children were working in groups to create a throne for a jungle ruler. Such a lot of cooperation. Compromise and imagination. The sessions finished by sharing a pan of popcorn.
