Besides helping each other in the woods, the children made their own stick men figures and helped them to have adventures in the woods.

Y1/2 Blast off into Space
This term the Y1/2 are going on an adventure into deep space. They have built their rockets and are travelling thousands of miles into the darkest reaches of space; where no man has been before. Who knows where they will end up.

While building their ships there was fantastic team work to move some very large logs.

What A Helpful Reception Class
The children in reception are learning about those that help us. Well this week they have been helpful to the wildlife in the woods, they created little homes for little animals to live in.

Some even had a go on the slack line.

Unusual Nests In The Woods
Y6 started to consider how hard it is for animals in the woods. We discussed how humans affect the world negatively and how there is a balance in nature. As birds only build using their beaks, Children then tried building nests just using one hand to get an idea of what a bird goes through.

Christmas Arrived In The Woods
Children were getting a little crafty this week, making different Christmas themed things, reindeer to Christmas tree decorations. The sessions all enjoyed a festive drink of warm spiced apple juice.

High Winds In The Woods
Due to the high winds a few classes had to stay in their classrooms this week. We still had Forest school sessions, but not as they knew it. They worked on different construction challenges, from a geodesic dome to high towers.

Dangerous Club

Rudolph Arrives After The Snow In The Woods
The children definitely needed a hot drink and a big fire at the start of the week. The cold start was followed by lots of mini Rudolph’s appearing which the children all took home.

How old is our Woodland? Would Henry V111 Cut it Down to Build Ships?
Y5/6 have been assessing the average age of the woodland to see whether it would be used for building or if it would be better to leave it a few more years. They came to the conclusion it was roughly 30 years old and would be better left to mature.

Worship for the Sun God Ra
Y3/4 were creating their own temples for the Sun God Ra. They were thinking how to use the golden leaves for decoration. Sometimes even including leaf showers and toasting marshmallows.
