Y3/4 built their own versions of the shaduf, including a counter-balance to make lifting the water easier.

Coats will play!
What do coats do when left to themselves? They start playing by themselves.
Living on the Flood Plain
Y3/4 building platforms so the could sleep when the Nile floods it’s banks. All the group could lie down on this in “comfort”, apparently.

The Hunt for Protein.
Now Y5/6 know they have oxygen and can collect water on this strange planet the hunt is on for food. We found all sorts bugs and grubs to eat. In the end we had marshmallows, I was amazed at how many children were disappointed to be having marshmallows.

Y5/6 still lost in space decide they need water to survive.
I never thought a colander would be so effective for collecting water. The children were very resourceful and some even managed to stay dry (I might have made that last bit up).
Year 3/4 created pyramid booby traps in the woods.
The winning team managed to get the ‘boulder’ to roll nearly 7 metres, cunningly using the slight slope in part of the woods.

Pyramids appear in the woods
Year3&4 made square based pyramids to start their topic on ancient Egypt.

Y5/6 Crash land on a far distant planet.o
As part of their topic on space this term year 5 & 6 are lost in space and have just crash landed on a strange planet a long long way from Earth. Will they survive? Only time will tell.
Fantastic imagination.

How about a flying car that turns into a mole vehicle that tunnels through the ground?
Building a pine cone powered hover rocket.

Once finished the children flew to France (as they were studying France in class).
